Looking Back at Document Excellence Day

By Litera on October 12, 2017

Last week, we had the opportunity to attend Document Excellence Day in London. This educational and networking event is put on by the UK Document Excellence Group, a volunteer-run group consisting of more than 600 members from across 270 organizations, including most of the UK’s top 200 law firms and leading vendors for the industry.

Once a year, members come together for a one-day event to discuss issues that are of top concern, whether it be document corruption, best working practices, or latest developments in technology. Microsystems was lucky to have team members from both our UK and Chicago offices join 130 other attendees that have as much passion for documents as we do. It was an extremely valuable opportunity for us to be there and speak to the people that work with documents and get their perspective on a number of subjects.

With contributions from experts within law firms and software/service vendors, the amount of information shared was incredible. Topics ranged from the UKDEG Standard Styles, maintaining a legal house style in a global environment, and an introduction to ILTA, to Office 365 compatibility, and the influence of automation on our working environment.  What makes the Document Excellence Day a little different from other events is that there’s a strict no-selling policy - it means that the day really is a sharing of ideas and information.

If you’d like to know more, or be involved in future UKDEG events, register on their website at http://www.ukdeg.co.uk/register/ and you’ll automatically receive their invites, or get in touch with us at Microsystems, and we’ll pass your information along.
